Recommended BitTorrent Software For Use With The PureTnA Tracker
    Best Clients
  • uTorrent
A very good queue client for both newbies & advanced users. Less features than Azureus but uses very little system resources & does not need to install, runs straight off the .exe.
*uTorrent has DHT, refer to the DHT post in the Announcement forum.
  • Azureus
A very good queue client recommended for advanced users only, has the most features but is heavier on system resources, you need a decent CPU & RAM to run it.
*Azureus has DHT, refer to the DHT post in the Announcement forum.
  • Best Superseeder
  • BitTornado
Superseeding should generally only be used when you are the only seeder on a torrent. If you have a slow upload speed most times superseed mode will save you time & data in getting your first copies distributed. However, speed can sometimes be slow at first until your swarm has more peers.
BitTornado is also good for downloading, however the limitations of the original BT code means it can not download torrents with more than 255 files.
  • .torrent File Maker
  • MakeTorrent2
XP users will need to run in win 95/98 compatibility mode
Media Players & Tooldfhdn
  • Image Grabber 2 - Quickly grab & auto stitch a screenshot series, excellent program.
  • Pure TnA Image Joiner - A small program to quickly join multiple images into a single image.
  • VLC Media Player - I haven't been able to find a movie that this thing wouldn't play.
  • BSplayer - works as well as VLC, with more features. At the time of update the latest version has adware, the link here goes to the last version free of adware.
  • Video Inspector - tells you what video (and audio) codecs you need to play a movie, and if they're installed on your system or not, identifies a few more than GSpot does.
  • GSpot - tells you what video (and audio) codecs you need to play a movie, and if they're installed on your system or not, try this if Video Inspector couldn't identify the codec.
  • DivX Player - This is a clean, simple, resource-friendly player that's good if you know for sure that the video is DivX.
  • Media Player Classic
  • Winamp
  • Zoom Player
  • The Core Media Player - gets better frame rates on certain types of files, such as ogg.
  • 7-zip - Handles .zip & .rar & a number of other compression formats.
  • Lots of other good free tools & progs in our freeware sticky in the Tutorials forum.
