Proxies of course can be used for genuine, good reasons, & also by assholes.
Whilst using proxies with TnA is not against the rules, you do so at your own risk of being caught up in a ban brought on by an asshole or assholes using the same proxy/proxies.
Whilst we will apologise for the inconvenience to those effected, it cannot be changed, we quite simply cannot give up the only tool we have to control such situations.

If your ratio is 1.0 or better you may connect to the tracker with up to 5 IPs simultaneously, if your ratio is less than 1.0 you are only allowed up to 3.
The pages at this site seem to take forever to load. Why is this??
Though the servers for PureTnA are up to the task of tending to the thousands of users here, there is an ongoing database connectivity problem that has yet to be resolved. From time to time, especially under a heavy load, the DB problem grows to the point that site loading times are severely prolonged.
I registered an account but did not receive the confirmation e-mail!
DON'T use the forgot password link as it stuffs up the auto deletion timetable, you can't use an unconfirmed account anyway.
There is nothing we can do with an unconfirmed account.
You could wait a few days for the details to auto delete, but if you didn't receive the email the first time it will probably not
succeed the second time either, unless you've been able to add us to an allow list, so you should really try another email address.
Some providers block our system emails as spam, you may need to allow mail from noreply@puretna.com. Note: Some providers are not honest about the fact they are blocking your emails.
There are many other email providers, but:
Gmail will usually let our system emails through, though it can't hurt to add noreply@puretna.com to your gmail contacts.
Hotmail will usually let them through but only if you put noreply@puretna.com in your safe zone.
Yahoo claims to to rarely block mails, though it has been known to happen, & there is nothing documented that adding noreply@puretna.com to your address book will help, but it can't hurt to do that & turn off the spam filter.

Please use this form to have the login details mailed back to you. Some providers block our system emails, or sometimes only the second one, as spam, you may need to allow (or equivalent) mail from noreply@puretna.com. Note: Some providers are not honest about the fact they are blocking your emails. If all else fails, do NOT open another account, multiple accounts will get you banned, instead refer to our Contact page.
Inactive accounts are periodically deleted, if you want your account deleted simply don't login again. We can not delete them upon request.
We can not rename accounts. You can seek staff permission to create a new one but only once, & only if your ratio is 1.1 or better. You must ask a moderator to disable your old account for you, or you risk getting banned for holding duplicate accounts. You can not transfer stats to a new account, it's a new start.
Your ratio is displayed at the top of your profile page.
It's important to distinguish between your overall ratio and the individual ratio on each torrent
you may be seeding or leeching. The overall ratio takes into account the total uploaded and downloaded
from your account since you joined the site. The individual ratio takes into account those values for each torrent.
You may see two symbols instead of a number: "Inf.", which is just an abbreviation for Infinity, and
means that you have downloaded 0 bytes while uploading a non-zero amount (ul/dl becomes infinity); "---",
which should be read as "non-available", and shows up when you have both downloaded and uploaded 0 bytes
(ul/dl = 0/0 which is an indeterminate amount).
This problem sometimes occurs with MSIE. Close all Internet Explorer windows
and open Internet Options in the control panel. Click the Delete Cookies button.
You should now be able to login.

What's all the fuss about being connectable & why should I care?
If you are not connectable it means that you are firewalled or NATed and cannot accept incoming connections. Therefore you cannot share properly.
This means that other peers in the swarm will be unable to connect to you, only you to them. Even worse,
if two peers are both in this state they will not be able to connect at all. This makes life harder for uploaders & obviously has a
detrimental effect on the overall speed.
The way to solve the problem involves opening the ports used for incoming connections
(the same range you defined in your client) on the firewall and/or configuring your
NAT server to use a basic form of NAT
for that range instead of NAT (the actual process differs widely between different router models.
Check your router documentation and/or support forum. You will also find lots of information on the
subject at PortForward).
Level 1 - Virgin: The default class of new members & members that never get promoted.
Level 2 - Player or Custom Title: See promotion criteria below.
Level 3 - Pronstar: To qualify for consideration must meet at least 2 of the VIP criteria, or 1 only but in an extreme manner. (Most Pronstars retain their custom title, but you can see their user class in their profile & they have a star.)
Level 4 - VIP: Very Important Pervert. See promotion criteria below. (Most VIPs retain their custom title, but you can see their user class in their profile & they have a star.)
Moderator: Moderate/edit/delete torrents, comments & forum posts. Warn & ban members. Help formulate & enact policy.
A minimum of 6 uploads in the last 3 months (3 if they are full size DVD5/9s or torrents of similar size).
Total data size of those uploads must be at least 3gb, in other words, if you upload only small torrents you are going to need a lot more than 6 to qualify.
All uploads must have been seeded out properly & be reasonably well presented, for most torrents you can read that as meaning decent screenshots.
If a torrent is a dupe of one that was already uploaded & with seeds it may not be included in the count.
Without Uploads:
Member at least 12 weeks.
At least 50gb uploaded.
Ratio 1.25 or better.
Post in the EXISTING Player & Custom Title thread in the PureTnA Forum & a mod will edit your title for you. DO NOT START A NEW THREAD/TOPIC. If you just want the default (Player) title then post in the thread just asking for promotion only.
You may be demoted back to Virgin if your ratio drops below 1.0 at any time.
Pronstar: To qualify for consideration must meet at least 2 of the VIP criteria below, or 1 only but in an extreme manner. Self-nomination is not permitted. May be demoted if ratio drops below 1.0.
Promotion to Pronstar is not automatic upon meeting the criteria, nor is it a given, it is entirely at staff discretion, we do however accept nominations in an established specific purpose thread in the PureTnA Topics forum.
VIP: You don't ask us, awarded at staff discretion to members they consider have contributed exceptionally to the community. May be demoted if ratio drops below 1.0.
Staff make nominations at the beginning of the month, the remainder of the month is then an observation period to allow all staff time to familiarise themself with all nominees.
The final decision is made by consensus at the end of the month & succesfull nominees are promoted.
VIP Criteria, what constitues an exceptional contribution:
An "exceptional contribution" is being a long term prolific uploader, &/or contributing in 3 or more ways to the PureTnA community as outlined below. One contribution you must make is to keep a positive ratio, and the other contributions you can make to distinguish yourself from the "good" and "very good" users include any from this list:
Seeding to an extremely high user ratio (e.g. seeding 100's of GBs to reach a ratio of 2.000+)
Uploading lots of good quality torrents
Regular participation in forums with meaningful discussions
Consistently helping out in the Help & Support forum.
Frequently giving positive feedback to uploaders in torrent comments.
Note: Unlike for promotion to the second level, qualifying for promotion to level 3 & 4 is not automatic upon meeting the stated requirements, nor is it necessarily compulsory to meet stated requirements. VIP promotion is entirely at staff discretion & decision is arrived at by consensus.
If you ask for these promotions you will forfeit your chance, whether or not you have made an exceptional contribution.
These promotions can also be revoked if you step out of line. They give you higher status amongst other members here, not immunity.
All promoted to these levels are expected to set a good example for the rest of the community.
The Wishlist has two functions that could benefit you:
You can input a name or special word in each of the 5 boxes so when you view the Browse page, uploads containing your inputted word(s) in the title will be highlighted on the Browse page, making them easier to spot.
You can add the links to torrent pages so you can download them later. It works like a bookmarks/favourites for your account. To add a torrent to your wishlist, you need to click "Add to wishlist" on either the torrent page or the torrent's listing on the Browse page. You cannot download a torrent via the Wishlist, you have to do it directly from the torrent page itself.
Accounts may be deleted after being inactive for a period of 6 months or more, however, this is only done occasionally so it is possible for an account to be inactive for a longer period without being deleted. To be on the safe side you should make sure that you not only login inside 6 months, but also connect to the tracker at least briefly.
: A star or stars next to username signifies that the member either donated in the early days, or has been promoted beyond Player, or both.
